At an initial interview, we will discuss your particular goals, aspirations, and concerns and what impact employment or voluntary work may have on your quality of life. We will discuss what impact employment may have on benefits and determine your eligibility for Pathways to Work. We can help with voluntary, part-time or full-time employment.
During a series of follow-up meetings, we will develop a person-centred action plan based on a detailed vocational assessment and an assessment of the working environment that would be most suitable for you. We will seek out appropriate resources for training or job preparation and attempt to resolve barriers to employment.
We can also offer work-focused groups and job clinics to help develop self-confidence, problem-solving skills in the work-place, interview techniques, etc.
We will then assist you in finding employment - both through job searches, and through recruitment of employers who are committed to a positive approach to people with disabilities - and to supporting you. This may including training for employers as to how to be most helpful to people with disabilities.
After employment has been found - we will continue to provide advice and support to both you and your employer, to help resolve difficulties or needs for further training.
